Palermo | Tribeca Café

Palpable atmosphere and fusion make Tribeca Café one of the coolest hot spots in downtown Palermo.

This is definitely the place to go, and the place to be seen, at aperitivo time, as young professionals who work in the area well know: lively Tribeca does superlative cocktails, a good choice of estimable wines and a lavish buffet of appetizers, every day.

There’s more to follow. While the kitchen sets a high standard for traditional and creative ethnic food, the real speciality is Japanese at the open bar – probably some of the best sushi and sashimi on the island.

Pietro Greco is the man who opened Tribeca a few years ago, naming it after his favourite NYC triangle and betting grittily on personal tastes and instinct for a new stomping ground in Sicily‘s regional capital. It has great lighting and a French feel, a kind of Parisian bistrot atmosphere, but laced with classic and contemporary design furnishings (including aSaarinen Tulip table and Light Shades by Jurgen Bey for Moooi) as well as exclusive modern artworks. It also hosts art exhibitions periodically.

Pricey but stylish, Tribeca is open from 7pm until late except on Sundays.
