The new family business occupies 12 hectares of prime Tuscan wineland just outside Pisa.

Together with two of his four children, Rocco and Lola, both 20-something and already involved in the other family business, La Sterpaia, Toscani is producing a highly appreciated red found in some of the best enotecas in Italy.
The blend of 50% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Franc and 15% Petit Verdot currently has a production of 12 000 bottles a year.

Toscani has called in friend and 2009 Pritzker prize winner (one of my all time favorites), Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, to work on the design for a landmark winery. No doubt some exciting architecture on its way… Watch this space.
